Security Management in Defence

The purpose of the Master’s Study Programme Security Management in Defence is the education and training of SAF officers, civil servants in the Ministry of Defence and other ministries and agencies of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, as well as professional military personnel and civilians serving in foreign armed forces who have completed undergraduate studies for continuing their education in doctoral studies and acquiring the title of master manager.  
The study programme is designed to train officers and civil servants to perform the duties of master managers in the national security and defence system of the Republic of Serbia (positions of heads of organizational units of the Ministry of Defence and other ministries and the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as other high-ranking positions in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces).
The study programme provides specialized knowledge in the field of national security and a basis for further work for research-oriented students (candidates). The focus of the study programme is on the integration of theoretical and research work with the aim of preparing students to improve theoretical knowledge in the field of national security and multidisciplinary analysis of the modern security environment, assessing long-term political and security trends, developing elements of national security policy and cooperation with other national security systems, both regionally and globally.
Security management in defence is necessary for the efficient functioning of the security system, as a very important segment of social life. Namely, modern society is facing the processes of strengthening interdependence and globalization, changes in the foreign and security policy of the great powers, as well as the activities of international organizations in the security domain, so it is necessary to monitor new forms of these phenomena in theory and practice in order to respond to them adequately. Academic training at the level of master’s studies in the field of security management in defence provides competent experts who can help find optimal solutions and give adequate answers to questions of global, regional and national security and defence.
