„DEVELOPMENT TRENDS IN THE EUROPEAN SPACE OF HIGHER EDUCATION“
On the occasion of 13th September, the Day of Belgrade University, and the fifth anniversary of foundation of the Conference of Serbian Universities (KONUS), the Belgrade University Rectorate has recently organized a number of working and celebrating activities, in which Rector of the University of Defence Major-General Prof Dr Midorag Jevtić, Vice-Rectors Colonel Prof Dr Jan Marček and Colonel Prof Dr Goran Dikić, and military servant Prof Dr Mirjana Životić-Vanović have taken part.
Workshop DEVELOPMENT TRENDS IN THE EUROPEAN SPACE OF HIGHER EDUCATION attracted special attention. Opened by the KONUS President, Rector of Belgrade University, Prof Dr Branko Kovačević, it provided an opportunity for the participants to present the work of the national bodies for higher education in the Republic of Serbia:
· National Council for Higher Education – Prof Dr Srđan Stanković;
· National Council for Science and Technological Development - Prof Dr Vera Dondur
· Accreditation and Quality Assessment Commission - Prof Dr Endre Pap
· Conference of Academies of Professional Studies - Dr Ružica Stanković
· GOMES Project –Prof Dr Radmila Marinković Nedučin, Project Leader
· Working Group for Strategy of Higher Education - Prof Dr Vlastimir Matejić
A number of guests from abroad were also present: President of the European University Association (EAU), Prof Dr Jean Mark Rapa; Representative of the Black Sea University Network, Academician Prof Dr Jorgac Kacani; and Representative of the Danube Rector Conference, Prof Dr Mimi Kornazeva.
On behalf of the Ministry of Science and Education, the guests and participants were welcomed by the State Secretary Prof Dr Radivoje Mitrović.
The representatives of the University of Defence made contact with representatives of the state and private universities in the Republic of Serbia and established communication with the leaders of regional university associations. This will help to provide the basis for realization of the visions which were defined when our University was founded and began to work.
