Republic of Angola Delegation at University of Defence

A delegation of the National Administration for International Relations of the Republic of Angola Ministry of People’s Defence, led by His Excellency Mr Salviano de Jesus Sequeira "Kianda", Vice Minister of People’s Defence for Infrastructure and Material Resources, visited the University of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Ministry of Defence on 15th November 2011 to discuss possibilities of improving cooperation in the defence sector.
The delegation of the Republic of Angola MPD was received by Rector of the University of Defence, Major General Prof Dr Miodrag Jeftić, and his closest associates. Having informed the guests on the history and tradition of military education in the Republic of Serbia and the process that had resulted in accreditation of the study programmes, establishment of the University of Defence and adoption of its Statute by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Rector pointed to traditional friendly relations between the two states and the possibility of making a substantial progress in all fields of cooperation, with a special focus on the defence and education sectors.
On behalf of himself and other members of the delegation, Mr Salviano de Jesus Sequeira "Kianda" thanked on the reception and the detailed presentation of the University of Defence. During the talks that followed he and his associates expressed an interest in the area of military education in the Republic of Serbia and asked many questions regarding the structure and types of curricula implemented at the University of Defence and the relationship between the University of Defence and the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Science and Education. They were also very interested in the profile, purpose and prospects of the cadre graduating from the Military Academy, especially officers completing various forms of professional development in the scientific field of engineering and technology.Rector UD with his associates provided detailed answers to those questions. He emphasized openness of the University of Defence and himself personally to different forms of cooperation, pointing out that he believed this visit to be only the first successful step towards enhancement of further cooperation between our countries cherishing traditional friendship
