Visit of the Minister of Defence of Belarus to the University of Defence

Minister of Defence of Belarus, Lieutenant-General Andrej Alekseevich Ravkov, and Rector of the University of Defence, Major-General Prof. Mladen Vuruna, PhD spoke on 17 November 2015 at the Rector’s office at the University of Defence, about the military educational system in Serbia.

General Vuruna emphasized the importance of establishing the University of Defence thus crowning more than 160 years of existence of the military educational institutions in Serbia in the light of improving the quality of the educational process and creating conditions for broader cooperation with educational and training institutions in the country and abroad.

During his presentation, General Vuruna specifically pointed to the possibility of cooperation in the field of scientific research, emphasizing the similar synergy with the University of Defence and the Military Technical Institute.

In order to present the possibilities for cooperation in the field of scientific research further, the Director of the Military Technical Institute, Colonel Assistant Professor Zoran Rajić, PhD who presented the organization, activities and results achieved over decades of existence of the Institute, was also present.

Lieutenant-General Andrew Alekseyevich Ravkov gave thanks for the cordial reception and detailed information provided to answer his questions.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the possibilities offered by the existing Memorandum of Understanding in the area of military science and education, which will enable the exchange of personnel at all levels of education and training in Serbia and Belarus, as well as cooperation in the fields of research and development.
